@MarkFL wouldn't this be better phrased "What percent of 400 is 20?"

It could also be said "What percent is 20 out of 400?", right?

Basically, the "of" word is out of place.

The problem is worded fine, but the solution given is wrong...I would write:

\(\displaystyle \frac{x}{100}\cdot20=400\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{x}{100}=20\)

\(\displaystyle x=2000\)

And so we conclude that 400 is 2000% of 20.

The problem is worded fine, but the solution given is wrong...I would write:

\(\displaystyle \frac{x}{100}\cdot20=400\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{x}{100}=20\)

\(\displaystyle x=2000\)

And so we conclude that 400 is 2000% of 20.
The problem - lol - is that 400 can't fit into 20. It's a weird question. :oops:
