It was an intro course but I can't remember much about it - only that it was fun and interesting.

Sociology was a total waste of my time at CUNY.

I hate Stefan Molyneux's views (The YouTube guy) but he sometimes speaks the truth. He was noting how useless arts and sciences degrees had come - and how employers only wanted math and sciences. He was also saying that everyone going to college lowered the value of a degree.

Well, that's true - but, I don't ever think college is a waste of time. However, you have to work for yourself or in some company separate from the corporate world (Like make a blog, get visitors for it, put ads on it). Anyway, this new phenomenon is only possible because of internet technology and you have to also be good at marketing, raising capital, stuff we're trying to do with this forum.

College is overrated. The selected major will determine your success. Sociology at the B.A. level is like a second high school diploma.

The Arts need to be the BS, not the BA :D

It was told by my parents I could get a government job after graduation (lie), but anyway, I simply went off to South Korea (teach ESL), so the job thing wasn't a concern until I stopped. So basically at that point, I wasn't better off than high school grad.

So later I attempted to get a 2nd math and math related degree. However, I had to stop when funding was getting lower and Linear Algebra for one, was giving me trouble.

Linear algebra is a requirement to major in math. Do you think abstract algebra is any easier? No. Linear algebra is a walk in the park compared to abstract algebra aka modern algebra.
